2 02日目それから、「水」（water）に覆われていた天地に「大空」（dome）をつくり、それに「天」（sky）と名づけました。Then God commanded, “Let there be a dome to dividethe water and to keep it in two separate places”（中略）He named the dome “Sky.”（Genesis 1:6-8）神は言われた。「水の中に大空あれ。水と水を分けよ。」（中略）神は大空を天と呼ばれた。（創世記1:6-8）3日目天と分けられた水は１カ所にまとめられて「海」（sea）となり、残りの乾いたところが「地」（earth）となりました。Then God commanded, “Let the water below thesky come together in one place, so that the land willappear”（中略）He named the land “Earth,” and thewater which had come together he named “Sea.”（Genesis 1:9-10）神は言われた。「天の下の水は一つ所に集まれ。乾いた所が現れよ。」（中略）神は乾いた所を地と呼び、水の集まった所を海と呼ばれた。（創世記1:9-10）地にはさまざまな「草」（plants）が芽生え、「穀物」（grain）や「果実」（fruit）がもたらされました。
