21第1 章　世界のはじまりを語る「創世記」Then he commanded, “Let the earth produce all kindsof plants, those that bear grain and those that bearfruit”（Genesis 1:11）神は言われた。「地は草を芽生えさせよ。種を持つ草と、それぞれの種を持つ実をつける果樹を、地に芽生えさせよ。」（創世記1:11）4日目天にふたつの「星」（stars）、すなわち「太陽」（sun）と「月」（moon）をつくり、「季節」（seasons）や「年月」（year）のしるしとしました。Then God commanded, “Let lights appear in the skyto separate day from night and to show the time whendays, years, and religious festivals begin;they will shine in the sky to give light to the earth”（Genesis 1:14-15）神は言われた。「天の大空に光る物があって、昼と夜を分け、季節のしるし、日や年のしるしとなれ。天の大空に光る物があって、地を照らせ。」（創世記1:14-15）5日目海と天にそれぞれ「生き物」（living beings）を創造しました。Then God commanded, “Let the water be filled withmany kinds of living beings, and let the air be filled withbirds.”
