128 2014 OCTOBERUnit 3 トークなま素材PL: The second lesson in life / is, I think everybody?/ every person / hasin their life maybe / a hundred people / that are really, really / ? importantto you. / You?you have a?you have a very finite number of people /that you’re gonna do every ? important thing with / for all of your most? important, / uh, things in life?/ for everything that happens to you, uh,at work, for all of your most ? important personal moments, / there’s thisgroup of people?maybe?/ maybe there’s a hundred of them?for each?/ for?for each of you. Maybe some people get less, / maybe some peopleonly have 30. / Uh, but / ? once you know who those people are, they’rethe same ones that you’re gonna go to for every single ? important thing. /Many of my?of my co-founders / and co-workers at Evernote have?havebeen with me for more than 20 years. / It’s the same people that I met in?/in high school and at university and at my first company and at my secondcompany, / and / everything we do, we always go back to the same group. /And when?when?when you’re your age?when you’re in?in school,it’s?it’s easy to meet new people all the time?it’s easy to make newfriends all the time?/ but at some point, / ? once you’ve kind of met thehundred most ? important people in your life, / that’s it. / And you want tomake sure that?that?that?that / ? the people that matter to you now, /? the people who are / your best friends now, / ? the people who you feelthe most, uh, / productive with now?those are the people / that you shouldstay in touch with / and you should try to build great things with. / In thenext few decades, / uh, I’m sure many of the people in this room, manyof you will go on to lead great companies, / to lead great countries, / and /you’ll be doing it with?with some of the other people who you met / righthere. /So / my second lesson / is to / realize who?who the most ? importantfriends you have are / and?and?and cultivate those relationships and tryto do as much as possible / with the people. / And so that’s what I did. Ireconnected with my friends from?from school / and we decided to start /our own company together.
